Registration Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct

These Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct apply to all programs, services, events, and activities operated by Fundamental Sports Club, carrying on business as Fundamentals Basketball Club (FBC).

By completing your registration and submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, Policies & Code of Conduct. Throughout this document, 'Fundamental Sports Club', 'Fundamentals Basketball Club (FBC)', and 'the Club' refer to the same organization unless otherwise specified.

1. Registration & Payment

  • Registration is not complete until payment has been received.

  • All registrations and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable except where required by applicable law.

  • Tournament fees are billed separately unless otherwise stated.

  • Payment deadlines must be met to secure a roster spot.

2. Attendance & Commitment

  • Players are expected to attend practices, games, tournaments, and team activities regularly.

  • Arrive on time and prepared.

  • Notify coaches of absences as soon as possible.

3. Tournament Participation

  • Tournament fees are billed separately unless otherwise stated.

  • Players are expected to attend scheduled tournaments.

  • Rosters may be adjusted due to injuries, illness, availability, roster balance, or operational needs.

  • The Club may combine teams or invite affiliate players when necessary.

4. Team Placement & Rosters

  • Team placement is determined solely by the Club.

  • Roster decisions consider skill, basketball IQ, position, effort, attitude, coachability, commitment, chemistry, and long-term development.

  • Rosters may change throughout the season.

5. Club Commitment & Outside Participation

  • Players are expected to make FBC their primary basketball club during the season.

  • Participation with another basketball club during the same FBC season is not permitted without prior written approval from the Club Director.

  • This restriction does not apply to school basketball teams, school athletic programs, Basketball BC Provincial Teams, Team Canada programs, or other programs approved in writing.

  • Violations may result in suspension, roster removal, or loss of future registration privileges.

6. Playing Time Philosophy

  • Playing time is based on attendance, effort, attitude, coachability, preparation, commitment, team needs, and competitive situations.

  • Equal playing time is not guaranteed, particularly during competitive tournaments, playoffs, and championship games.

  • Coach decisions are final.

7. Practice & Event Locations

  • Practices and events are held at various facilities throughout the Lower Mainland.

  • Families are responsible for checking TeamSnap regularly for schedules and venue changes.

8. Schedule Changes

  • The Club may modify schedules, locations, coaches, tournaments, and program formats due to circumstances beyond its control.

9. Club Apparel

  • Players are expected to wear Club-issued or approved practice apparel unless otherwise instructed.

10. Code of Conduct

  • All participants must demonstrate respect, sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, and positive communication.

  • Bullying, harassment, discrimination, abuse, intimidation, sideline coaching that interferes with instruction, and behaviour harmful to the Club are prohibited.

11. Suspension & Removal

  • The Club may suspend or remove any participant for violations of the Code of Conduct. Refunds will not be issued due to disciplinary removal.

12. Injury & Assumption of Risk

  • Basketball involves inherent risks. Parents acknowledge and accept these risks.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Club is not liable except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

13. Medical Authorization

  • Parents authorize the Club to obtain emergency medical treatment if necessary when they cannot be reached.

  • Medical costs remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

14. Photography & Media Release

  • Photos and videos may be used for the Club's website, social media, marketing, and promotional materials.

  • Parents may opt out in writing before the season begins.

15. Electronic Communication

  • TeamSnap and email are the Club's primary communication methods.

  • Families are responsible for keeping contact information current and reviewing communications.

16. Personal Property

  • The Club is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.

17. Cancelled Sessions

  • Makeup sessions may be offered but are not guaranteed.

  • Refunds are not provided for cancellations beyond the Club's control.

18. Complaints & Concerns

  • Concerns should be directed to info@fundamentalsbc.com or 604-670-2322 (Jojo) before being discussed publicly or on social media.

19. Social Media & Parent Communication Policy

  • Participants are expected to communicate respectfully online and offline.

  • Do not publicly criticize coaches, players, officials, roster decisions, or the Club on social media.

  • Respect privacy and confidential information.

  • Violations may result in disciplinary action.

20. Safe Sport Commitment

  • The Club is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive environment free from bullying, harassment, abuse, discrimination, and intimidation.

21. Privacy

  • Personal information is used only for Club administration, communication, emergency purposes, insurance requirements, and program operations, and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

22. Policy Updates

  • The Club may amend these Terms at any time. The most current version applies to all participants.

Acknowledgement

  • By registering with Fundamental Sports Club (operating as Fundamentals Basketball Club), I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, accept the inherent risks of basketball participation, and confirm that I am the parent/legal guardian or otherwise authorized to accept these Terms.
